Painful Nails
If the edges of a nail are uncomfortable – it could be an ingrown toenail but if there is no corner or ‘spike’ of nail penetrating the skin then it is commonly an involuted nail that’s the problem.
From experience, I’ve found that around 1 in 20 people suffer from this, with varying degrees of discomfort.
The side of the nail sits very deeply in the nail fold. Very often, the edge is also curved slightly, causing more pressure on the underlying skin.
